Hmmm…I haven’t dated in a while (illness, school etc.) and plan to get back out there soon. I am a 45 y.o. African American woman. When I was in my 30′s doing Match.com I found that I got quite a few responses from all kinds of men. In my early 40′s I placed ads on Craigs list and ONLY got responses from white men. Ironically, the white guys expressed doubt that I would actually want to go out with them!
I think level of attractiveness does make a difference and a willingness to be open minded does too. I know FEW black women who are willing to date a man who isn’t black. Some of the stats on Black women being 74% single etc. isn’t just based on availability of men, incarceration etc. I know plenty of black women who are not interested in a relationship. Maybe they are being dishonest, but I believe that many of those stats are skewed because the opinion of Black women is rarely recoreded.
